UNIVERSITY PORTFOLIO PREPARATION
Hands-On Learning
In this course, students with an interest in pursuing their education at a collegiate level will develop their portfolios under the careful guidance of both our academic advisors and educators. Together at
CCAD, we will plan the portfolio pieces needed for admission to selected universities, as well as the grades and extracurriculars required for admission. Opportunities for internship and volunteers will be avaliable. Preparation for National Portfolio Day is also included in this course, including training in interview skills and portfolio design.
DRAWING FOUNDATIONS
Hands-On Learning
This program is designed to teach fundamental drawing skills, such as line, shape, form, shading, and perspective. Students will learn to draw from observation and develop their hand-eye coordination, visual perception, and technical skills.
PAINTING FOUNDATIONS
Hands-On Learning
This program is designed to teach basic painting techniques using different mediums such as watercolors, acrylics, and oils. Students will learn color theory, mixing colors, composition, and different styles of painting.
FIGURE DRAWING
Join Us
This program is designed to teach students how to draw the human figure from observation. Students will learn anatomical structure, proportions, and movement. They will also learn techniques to create depth, texture, and volume in their drawings.
APPAREL DESIGN
Fashion
This program is designed to teach students how to design and produce clothing and accessories. Students will learn about fabrics, textiles, garment construction, and the fashion industry. They will also learn how to sketch, prototype, and produce their designs.
DIGITAL MEDIA
Film - Animation - Digital Media
This program is designed to teach students how to create digital media, such as websites, animations, videos, and interactive installations. Students will learn about programming, design, and user experience. They will also learn how to use different software tools and technologies to create their projects.
INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
Industrial Design
This program is designed to teach students how to design and produce consumer products, such as furniture, electronics, and appliances. Students will learn about design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and user experience. They will also learn how to sketch, prototype, and produce their designs.
FINE ARTS
Fine Arts
This program is designed to teach students about traditional and contemporary art-making practices. Students will learn to work with different materials, such as paint, clay, charcoal, and paper. They will also learn about art history, theory, and criticism.
SPATIAL DESIGN
Architecture - Interior Design - Environmental Design
This program is designed to teach students how to design and create spaces, such as buildings, interiors, and landscapes. Students will learn about architecture, interior architecture, and landscape architecture. They will also learn about design principles, sustainability, and project management.
VISUAL COMMUNICATION
Graphic Design - Illustration - UI/UX Design
This program is designed to teach students how to create visual designs for communication purposes. Students will learn about graphic design, illustration, and UI/UX design. They will also learn how to use typography, color, layout, and branding to create effective and engaging visual designs.
